Our Founders’ Vision
Cassie and Tracey understand that healing is not just physical but emotional, mental, and spiritual. They are committed to ensuring that no woman feels alone in her journey. By leveraging their shared experiences and their commitment to holistic wellness, they are building a community where women can find hope, strength, and a sense of belonging.
Cassie and Tracey’s partnership is as serendipitous as it is meaningful. The two first met in high school but drifted apart over the years as life took them down separate paths. In a beautiful twist of fate, they were reintroduced years later under extraordinary circumstances.
When Cassie was diagnosed with breast cancer, she sought out a mentor through a breast cancer mentoring program. The program’s coordinator saw the potential for a perfect match and paired her with Tracey. What began as a mentor-mentee relationship quickly blossomed into a deep friendship rooted in shared experiences and a mutual passion for empowering others.
Their bond laid the foundation for Homegrown Healing. Together, Cassie and Tracey combine their life experiences, professional expertise, and shared vision to create an organization that offers women the support and resources they need to reclaim their strength and thrive.
As a breast cancer survivor, domestic violence survivor, and single mother, Cassie’s journey has been one of resilience and faith. After experiencing firsthand the challenges many women face, she felt a calling to create a safe space where others could find the same hope and healing that carried her through. Cassie’s unwavering determination to uplift women led her to co-found Homegrown Healing, an organization rooted in compassion and empowerment.
Tracey Young, co-founder of Homegrown Healing, is the owner and founder of The Elderberry Cabin, established in 2019. Her business reflects her passion for holistic health and wellness, and her personal journey as a breast cancer survivor and single mother gives her a profound connection to the women Homegrown Healing serves.
